Stereotypes in Society (3/3)

The pimples
And scars
Bruises and a little weight
Make you perfect, incompletely
When you look inside yourself
And let the ecstasy penetrate
You live as a warrior
Destined to succeed.

It’s good to groom yourself, to make your appearance look better but you should only do it for yourself. I’ve seen mothers coercing their daughters to look good, brighten their skin tone, lose some weight, have long hair etc… Why? So she can get a good ‘rishta’ and live a happy life. No, these things are not your license for that. Girls are not a product, you don’t have to upgrade them to attract customers and whoever pays the best price will get it. We need to extricate ourselves from the colonial mindset where good looks matter the most. your education and intellect matters more than anything else.

I so agree with you. A person should only groom for their self and not for the society to accept them.

I am really loving the topics you raised and talked about. If we have more people such as like you, we can surely bring a change by educating others! Keep posting, I loved your work.

JazakAllah! I’ll try my best, thank you for the motivation. And, I hope this pays off by a change in our mentality towards women and other stereotypes.

It was really great and an eye opener from the perspective of the women.

You must know about so much that’s happening which is loosely linked to this and it’s really disturbing when people bring the filth in their own selves out in words against women in the meanest of ways.

    May Allah guide us all.

Ameen, it honestly depresses me a lot. How women are deteriorating the character of their daughters, manipulating them into thinking that they’ve to rely on certain people to be empowered.
      I hope this changes.
